Help us demonstrate the scale of the claim denials epidemic and the suffering it is causing across the country by sharing this petition with your friends and family. Together, we can demand that insurance companies STOP DENYING CARE.
Richard “Kap” Kaplowitz is doing everything a loving father should—fighting to make sure his son, William, can live with dignity and get care when he needs it. But UnitedHealthcare keeps getting in the way. Sign our petition to tell United to stop denying William the care he needs.
William has been through more than anyone should have to endure. He is:
Legally blind, Dealing with multiple chronic health conditions, and Recovering from a massive stroke.
After a recent hospitalization, his doctors recommended that he continue his recovery at a rehab facility to regain strength and mobility.
But UnitedHealthcare keeps saying no.
Since William’s transfer to Shady Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in March, UnitedHealthcare has issued five denials of care—even though his medical team says he needs 90 days of treatment to fully recover. Each time, Richard has fought back. Four denials have been overturned, but the harassment hasn’t stopped.
Now William is losing hope. He’s experiencing depression, suicidal thoughts, and setbacks in his recovery—because his insurer is playing a cruel game of delay and denial.
UnitedHealthcare has made over $91.5 billion in profit over the past five years. They can afford to do the right thing. They just choose not to—so that their executives and shareholders can get richer at William’s expense.
Add your name to tell UnitedHealthcare: Stop denying William’s care.
